Q and A

Q.    When should I expect puberty at?
A. In girls, puberty usually starts around 11 years of age. In boys, puberty begins around 12 years as age. Puberty is a process that goes on for several years. It can happen at any time around these ages. You will notice with your friends that everyone is a different build, but our bodies mostly all go through a similar process.

Q.    What am I going to do about my pimples?
A. Ask your parents what they recommend. If you are just getting them, it’s important not to squeeze them. Don’t wash your face with anything too strong, or scrub too much. Wash your face 2 times a day and wear oil free sunscreen. Be very kind to your skin and yourself, then take it from there.

Q.   What age should I think about hair removal?
A. That’s something you may have to discuss with either parent. If they say your not allowed to, well I guess your just going to have to accept it.

Q.   When should I start wearing deodorant?
A.   Hopefully you’ll notice your smell first. If not, ask a good friend, brother or sister. If your open about asking these sorts of questions, then everything else is going to be easier.
